Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2025-04-14T18:12Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
Activity ID: 2025-04-14T18:12:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Note Keyword:
Faint: Faint event; may affect type assignment
Source Signature Keyword:
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
Morphology Keyword:
Note: CME first visible to the S in SOHO LASCO C2 starting at 2025-04-14T18:12Z in white light. CME is visible starting a few frames earlier at 2025-04-14T17:36Z in running difference imagery. This CME is also seen to the S in SOHO LASCO C3 but is partially obscured by the pylon. The source of this CME is possibly far-sided. There is not a good source candidate on the Earth-facing disk, but there is some very faint field line movement from on or beyond the S limb best seen in SDO AIA 171 beginning around 2025-04-14T15:42Z. The faint field line movement can also be seen in GOES SUVI 284. Another less likely source candidate is some minor movement starting around 2025-04-14T16:39Z best seen in SDO AIA 193 about S20E10.

The List of CME Analysis already entered:
Event Type Catalog
Measurement TypeCME measurement type: Leading Edge (LE), Shock Front (SH), Right Hand Boundary (RHB), Left Hand Boundary (LHB), Black/White Boundary (BW), Prominence Core (COR), Disconnection Front (DIS), Trailing Edge (TE).
Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type

CME is partially visible in C3 but is too obscured by the the pylon to get a good measurement. Plane-of-sky measurement chosen due to lack of definitive source candidate.
